Help! My Oil is Milky Brown!

If your oil looks like the picture above (you can see the milky ring inside the oil catch pan) or if the oil cap looks like the picture below (milkshake-like color under the oil cap), that's not a good sign.

This milky brown color means that water or coolant is mixing with your oil.
It could be as simple as replacing a $5 part. However, the price for repairs only goes up from there.
Common Causes:
Worn Out Oil Cap
Leaking Head Gasket
Cracked Cylinder Head
Cracked Block (needs a new engine)
If you notice your oil turning a milkshake brown color, contact your mechanic ASAP.
Even if it is a simple fix, putting it off for too long can lead to serious problems and very costly repairs.
