How to Replace a brake light bulb on a 2008 Nissan Versa Hatchback
Purchase the correct bulb
Purchase a headlight bulb at an auto parts store. When buying a new bulb, be sure to choose the correct one. If you need help, tell the employee at the auto parts store, what kind of vehicle you have and they should be able to help you make the right choice. The bulb we will be using is a standard brake light bulb.
Step 1:
Open the back hatch and look behind the light. You will see access panels. The panels need to be removed. To avoid damaging the panels, use a screwdriver to pop off these two access panels.
Step 2:
Locate the nuts inside the access panel and remove them using a socket or wrench. DON’T DROP THEM!
Step 3:
Remove the light fixture. Be careful not to break any of the clips holding the light in. There are 2 pop clips near the center and 1 on top.
Step 4:
Remove the plug and bulb together; turn and pull. The bulb comes out of the socket by pulling.
Step 5:
Replace the bulb.
Now that you have removed the old bulb, reverse the procedure to install the new one.
