Your car will gradually veer to the right (towards the curb). However, it should NOT pull towards either direction. You should NOT have to forcibly hold the steering wheel straight. If your vehicle is pulling towards either direction (left or right), it could be because of several different reasons. These include:
Incorrect Tire Pressure
Bent Rim
Worn Suspension
Improper Alignment
Uneven wear or balding tires
Tire Pressure. A part of routine maintenance, tire pressure should be checked monthly. When the temperature outside is under 35 degrees Fahrenheit, your tire pressure should be checked twice a month. This is because the colder temps and warming of the tires when driving, causes the air in your tires to fluctuate.
Bent Rim. Be careful of curbs and potholes! Buying a new rim to match can sometimes be a hefty expense. Unfortunately, having a bent rim can cause a slow leak and can cause your vehicle to pull to one side.
Worn Suspension. Broken, worn out, or rusted through suspension components puts excessive wear on your vehicle. Be sure to have your suspension checked and maintained to ensure unnecessary repairs.
Improper Alignment. You should have your vehicle's alignment checked at least once a year, usually during a tire rotation. Not having the proper alignment means parts of your vehicle are not sitting straight and will cause uneven wear on tires and pulling to one side.
Uneven Wear or Balding Tires. Buy new tires! Uneven wear or balding tires is very dangerous. Your vehicle is no longer getting enough traction to the roadway and tends to slide easily over grass, leaves, or wet pavement.
